Lasting Power of Attorney - Empowering Your Future

Ensuring Your Wishes Are Carried out, even when you are unable to do so, by the ones you trust.

Even with life's uncertainties, we have the power to take proactive steps towards a more secure future and these are decisions we can make today to secure a better tomorrow.

Let's think about this: What if a time comes when you're unable to make decisions for yourself due to illness or incapacity? Who would you trust to handle your affairs and make choices on your behalf?

This is where Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) comes into play. An LPA is a legal document that allows you to appoint trusted individuals, known as attorneys, to make decisions on your behalf should you become unable to do so yourself.

There are two main types of LPA:

  • Health and Welfare LPA: This enables your chosen attorney(s) to make decisions about your health and welfare, including medical treatment, care arrangements, and end-of-life care.

  • Property and Financial Affairs LPA: This grants your chosen attorney(s) authority to manage your finances, such as paying bills, managing investments, and selling property, if you're unable to do so.

Have you thought about who you'd want to make decisions about your health and welfare or manage your finances if you're unable to do so?

These are crucial considerations that an LPA addresses, giving you peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be respected.

Applying for an LPA isn't about tempting fate; it's about sensible planning. It's a proactive step towards ensuring your wishes are respected, even in challenging circumstances.

Remember, if you haven't yet set up a Lasting Power of Attorney, all is not lost. In situations where an LPA isn't in place, a Deputyship Application can step in to safeguard your interests.
